DBS checked for Nannies, Tutors and Babysitters
At Petit Monde all our candidates are DBS and Police Checked.
An enhanced DBS ( previously called CRB) stands for the Criminal Records Bureau, this is a police Check performed by the Home Office which all Child-Carers need in order to work with children.
The Current legislation does not allow the self-employed or individual Child-Carers to apply for an Enhanced DBS check for themselves. The only way is to apply through a Nanny Agency.
An Enhanced DBS disclosure on a Child-Carer checks the following:
- Whether the Child-Carer has been banned from working with children in a previous child care role. If so, their name appears on the Protection of children's act list.
- Whether the Child-Carer has been convicted at any offences.
- Whether the Child-Carer appears on what s formerly known as "list 99". It is more recently referred to as Section 142 of the Education Act 2002.
How much does the DBS check costs?
With Petit Monde the cost of the DBS check is £68, 72 net.
How long is the DBS check process?
With Petit Monde the DBS disclosure process can take between 2 to 16 weeks.
Important: DBS only checks individuals who have resided in the UK for a minimum of 6 months, if the Child-Carer have been less than 6 months in the UK we will request a police check from their home country.
