An educational choice
A Governess is a Nanny with education related to childcare or education. The Governess may be responsible for the children’s formal education, home school, tutor, educational conferences and private school attendance. They may also be responsible for purchasing children’s clothes and all aspects of childcare when parents are away for extended periods. Governesses may live in or out.

A governess is traditionally an educated person employed by a family for full-time or part-time academic instruction of school-aged children.
•One of the main governess duties is teaching and educating children in a private household paying attention to their social development (as well as tutoring English ond other subjects).
•A Governess will be employed to work 5 or 6 days per week and may work alongside a nanny or mothers’ help. She will normally care for school aged children between the ages of 3 to 16 years.
•A Qualified British Governess will have a teaching background or have higher childcare education and a minimum of 5 years professional childcare or teaching experience.
•A Bilingual Governess is often asked to teach children a second language (French, Spanish, Italian, Russian etc...).
•A Governess may also teach a musical instrument.
